It's just a little over 60 days until I jet off to the big apple again. I took my first bite one year ago today, and I have been yearning to taste it again ever since. New York is unexplainable - probably because it doesn't need an explanation. But just in case you're yet to visit the beating heart of the world, New York is a little like this;
"I love New York City. The reason I live in New York City is because it’s the loudest city on the planet Earth. It’s so loud I never have to listen to any of the shit that’s going on in my own head. It’s really loud. They literally have guys come with jackhammers and they drill the streets and just leave cones in front of your apartment; you don’t even know why. Garbage men come; they don’t pick up the garbage, they just bang the cans together" - Lewis Black.
The first time I had the pleasure of meeting Manhattan, I was dressed head to toe in Josh Goot, ready for my first impression. It was a chilly December morning, Hopped out of the car service, right into the arms of an awaiting snow storm. What a warm welcome, NYC. I spent the next few days in the hotel lobby, ducking back and forth to starbucks, wholefoods and my bed. This time, I will be better prepared. Josh Goot can stay in my luggage until I arrive, I am booked to go in 'spring' so there should be no white powder (of any kind) and I've organized meetings so I don't have to hibernate if the weather is out to get me, for the second time. I can't wait to see you again, Manhattan.
